Lunchtime or Weekend Laser Peels
The Venus™ Lunchtime or Weekend Laser Peels are the latest advance for the treatment of aging and sun damaged skin! The Laser Peel refreshes sun damaged skin by reducing age spots, fine wrinkles and minimizing the appearance of some superficial scars.
Being a true “lunchtime” procedure, with almost no recovery time, the treatment can be done most any time during your normal day. What mild redness there might be can easily be covered with make-up soon after treatment.
In only a few days, you may start to see improvement in pigment and skin texture. Other improvements might be subtler, with real improvement being apparent one to three months following a course of treatments. One of the most common patient comments is they feel that they look more rested.
How it Works
Laser skin resurfacing removes the outer layer of skin through the use of an Erbium YAG Laser. The laser energy is absorbed by water and because the skin contains 70% water, the laser beam actually vaporizes the top layer of skin or the epidermis, removing skin inconsitencies, such as discoloration, shallow lines and scarring. Very thin layers of skin are ablated & removed in each pass, resulting in more rapid healing when compared to more aggressive resurfacing lasers such as the CO2 laser. When new epidermis regenerates, the effect is a smoother and tighter surface.
For many lasers, the depth of the treatment with each spot is not uniform and is deeper in the center than at the periphery, resulting in possible uneven ablation. The Venus is unique in that it has a “top-hat” waveform, which means that the degree of ablation is uniform throughout. For this reason the Venus laser is very well-suited for “lunchtime” or “weekend” laser peels in regards to down time.
Unlike lighter treatments or fractional resurfacing, the Venus Laser Peel is best as a multiple step process that is both gradual and less invasive than older methods of exfoliation. Depending on the skin condition, most clients require 4-6 treatments, each spaced one month apart. Each procedure lasts approximately 30-45 minutes.
Conditions That Can Be Treated
When repeated once a month over a three to five-month period, clients will notice great improvement in the elasticity, fullness, texture, color and appearance of their skin. Common treatment conditions include:
